ESN ASE Verona is delighted to invite you to join our event in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

This will be a two-hour session focused on the topic of violence. The event will be organized as follows:

  • A short coffee break in the cozy venue where the session will take place
  • An informative talk about violence given by the association Telefono Rosa Verona
  • A debate session, during which participants will be invited to write down a short testimony about an episode of violence they may have experienced, witnessed, or heard about. All testimonies will then be collected in a basket, and each participant will randomly read one story aloud. We have thought deeply about how to do it, and we finally decided this could be a proper way not to feel obligated to share something, because nobody will know the story is yours and it will all stay anonymous.

If you don't want to share a story but you you feel comfortable sharing something else in a more direct way, you are more than welcome to do it: this event is thought to listen to each other and to increase our empathy and comprehension about the topic. For this reason, every kind of thought is appreciated: a poem, a song, a thought: you will be able to read them even in your own language and if you’d like to you can text us before the event so we will translate it and we will show it on a bigger screen for everyone to see.

This event is designed for people who identify as women but is open to everyone.

The event is free, but since we are kindly hosted by the Spazio Baleno association, even a small donation (which you can make upon arrival) would be greatly appreciated.
